The CPMI works with the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) to monitor implementation of the Principles for financial market infrastructures and to publish further guidance. The PFMI were published jointly with IOSCO in April 2012, in the CPSS era.

The Committee on Payments and Market Infrastructures (CPMI) is a committee whose secretariat is based at the Bank for International Settlements and which promotes the safety and efficiency of payment, clearing, settlement, and related arrangements. In September 2014 it changed its name from the Committee on Payment and Settlement Systems (CPSS).
