A deposit with a foreign-currency repayment clause is a structured deposit on which the exchange rate on the determination date decides whether the principal is repaid in yen or in a foreign currency. If the yen is stronger than the conversion rate, the principal is converted into the foreign currency at the conversion rate and repaid in that currency.
