This site separates redemptions before maturity by what decides the redemption.
When the issuer chooses to redeem a bond before maturity, the site calls it redemption before maturity. When a bond is redeemed automatically before maturity once a condition is met, such as a stock price at or above a set level on an observation date, the site calls it automatic early redemption (autocall).
A Japan Securities Dealers Association document calls the mechanism by which Nikkei Stock Average-linked notes are redeemed when the index is at or above a set level an "early redemption clause." This mechanism is an autocall.
