The JBA operates the Foreign Exchange Yen Clearing System, which settles foreign exchange payments in yen. The system uses the BOJ-NET to process payment instructions, and its operation is one of the businesses set out in the JBA's articles of incorporation1. The JBA also plans and operates the Zengin System, the bill and check clearing system, and the electronic monetary claims recording institution (Densai Net)2.
The JBA Customer Relations Center accepts complaints and inquiries about dealings with banks. A customer whose dispute is not resolved through the Center's complaint processing procedure can use the Mediation Committee3. The JBA also publishes a page that explains how structured deposits work and what risks they carry for users4.
