The LME's price bands were introduced as the automatic volatility controls required by MiFID II, and there are two kinds, dynamic and static. If a member contacts the LME's Trading Operations Team (TOT) to confirm that a trade outside the range is genuine and not a mistake, the trade can still be accepted.

A price band is a mechanism by which an exchange sets the range of prices within which it accepts orders and trades. A trade outside the range is first rejected automatically.
