In derivatives, DTCC takes part as a trade repository that collects over-the-counter trade data. In the United States, DTCC Data Repository (US) LLC, a subsidiary of the subsidiary DTCC Deriv/SERV LLC, runs this business1. DTCC's Global Trade Repository handles trade data reported under the reporting regimes of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) in the United States, the European Market Infrastructure Regulation (EMIR) in the EU and the UK, and the Japan Financial Services Agency in Japan2.
In Japan, DTCC Data Repository (Japan) K.K. was designated on March 8, 2013, as a person that conducts trade repository business under the Financial Instruments and Exchange Act3. DTCC also handles clearing and settlement after trades are made4.
