Under Japanese law, derivatives transactions carried out without using an exchange market are called "over-the-counter derivatives transactions"1. OTC stands for over the counter. Among OTC derivatives, Japan Securities Clearing Corporation (JSCC) clears credit default swaps (CDS) and interest rate swaps.
